Last Minute Course

We know how challenging the section 2 of the FRCS exam is. Everyone is happy to help but when it comes down to it, your bosses often have limited time. They may not be up to date with the latest exam format and it all leads to anxiety.

Practice with us and get tailored feedback specifically to you in our last minute VIVA course which aims to hone in your skills and gives you that final push to make you ready for exam day.

There will be a maximum of 5 candidates and 30 observers. We limited the number of participants to 5 to allow for a more focussed session. Observer candidates are there to help identify weaker areas and areas for feedback to hone in things before the exam.

The agenda for our last minute VIVA course will generally follow the following format (subject to change)

Introduction and expectations

An approach to the academic VIVA

Candidate 1 – VIVA 1:10 mins and feedback 10 mins
Candidate 2 – VIVA 1:10 mins and feedback 10 mins
Candidate 3 – VIVA 1:10 mins and feedback 10 mins
Candidate 4 – VIVA 1:10 mins and feedback 10 mins
Candidate 5 – VIVA 1:10 mins and feedback 10 mins

By the end of the course, each candidate will have had a VIVA in a general, sub-speciality and academic topic totalling a minimum of 60 minutes dedicated VIVA practice with feedback.

There will be a minimum of 240 minutes of active participation and observation of the other candidates, allowing pick up of good practice and avoidance of anything that might not help you pass.
